Who we are:
CIA Studios is a new artist initiative dedicated to supporting the development of interdisciplinary arts in Australia. The CIA provides resources, rehearsal and studio space to artists from all disciplines while developing initiatives to encourage, nurture & launch interdisciplinary practice.

Where we are:
Housed in an old school CIA is on the cusp of the city centre in perth, wa. resources include converted classrooms, a sound recording studio, edit suite, equipment hire, a large open plan rehearsal space, resource library [in development], along with a shared common room and kitchen facilities.

What we do:
The CIA provides dedicated workspaces, resources and peer support to artists while focusing on the professional development of interdisciplinary arts with an emphasis on the contemporary performance spectrum, including artists and groups who experiment with new media, live art, hybrid art and new technology.

CIA studios is a central hub run by artists for artists that aims to nurture national and international artists/groups allowing them a space in which to exchange ideas, engage in critical debate, share skills and experiment with new artistic practices.


Funding Partners:
CIA studios is a joint initiative between the Department of Culture and the Arts and pvi collective. The Government of Western Australia has invested in this pilot project.

The CIA hosts three permanent residents providing ongoing studio space, resource and administration support. The residents are an integral part of the CIA and contribute to the program, development and direction of the studios.
